The White House Experience
The White House Experience provides a personal and unique service
and experience to the guests, with a homely atmosphere in this
luxurious guest house.
Situated just 2 miles from the M6 motorway and offering a good
access point from where to discover and enjoy all that the
magnificent Lake District has to offer the visitor.
Rooms are very comfortable indeed, very charming and have a very
pleasant view of the surrounding countryside landscape. Rooms
consist of double, twin and a variety of family rooms are also
available, of which the largest room can accommodate 2 adults and 3
children.
The residents bar provides a place where you can relax, socialise
and catch up on the day`s events.
Meals are available in the bar
between 6-9 p.m. where you can enjoy local specialities using the
finest local produce in the preparation of the food.
Locally sourced meats from the local award winning butcher “Bellas”
of Shap include Cumberland Sausages, Bacon and Black Pudding.
Fresh milk from the local herd of Jersey Cows is definitely a real
treat when available.
The last battle that was fought on English soil between Scotland’s
Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Duke of Cumberland took place at the
site of the village in 1745, there is a memorial site in Clifton
that you can visit.
